Day 53: Vaccinated

Ahh, a “rest” day in town. My vaccination is scheduled for 11am at a CVS further out of town and the post office is on the way. South Lake Tahoe offers free public transportation via bus so I take full advantage of it.

In my resupply box, I receive a new backpack I’d been planning to switch to once out of the snow. Its a Mountain Laurel Designs Exodus 55L frameless pack, which weighs almost a full pound lighter than my Gossamer Gear Mariposa that I mail back to my parents.

The vaccination is a quick painless affair and we celebrate by ordering a lot of food from the Taco Bell dollar menu.

Gotta love Taco Bell

I need to purchase new hiking clothes since my others were soiled from the days on trail, so I head to the Patagonia store.

Then, I get a new fuel canister and some ice cream, and then head back to the hotel to get familiar/organize my new bag.

The day flies by and it’s already 4pm before I start laundry.

I go to sleep praying the vaccine side effects don’t completely wreck me.
