Day 67: Cold Again

Day 67:

As the crow flies, the campsite I awoke at was 13.4 miles from the campsite I’m sleeping at. As the trail goes, it was 39.8... kinda depressing to find out. Regardless, it was now my 2nd longest of the hike.

Today was fun despite the chill that required me to wear my puffy jacket until the afternoon sun broke through. It’s crazy to think just a few days ago the temps were in the upper 80s and now I’m cold most of the day.

We made a stop around 8 am this morning to make coffee. Then, I downloaded a Beatles album when I had service and rocked out to make the morning fly by.

Sandman and I finally ran into Lab Rat and Turd Fergusson, two hikers we’ve been hearing about on trail. We leapfrogged each other throughout the day, and actually ending camping together. It was both of theirs longest day on trail -- pretty cool.

It started to snow / rain pretty good around 5:30 and it kept it up until we got to camp around 7. I was cold, so I dang near ran the last few miles to camp so I could get into my sleeping bag.

The white stuff on the ground is the snow!

A wonderful day on trail.
