Day 55: A Sign of Things to Come

There was a pit toilet 6 miles up trail that I was aiming to get to before taking care of morning business. I was .2 miles away before my body revolted and I needed to dig a cat hole ASAP. A good start to the day.

I stopped near the picnic area anyways to make coffee, and discovered there was a ski resort with a restaurant 28 miles ahead. I set my sights on that for dinner.

There was still quite a bit of snow on trail resulting in quite of a bit of slipping and sliding around, but I was determined to make good time. I found an inflated balloon and did my part by tying it to my pack.

I arrived at the ski resort a little after 7, promptly ordering a Philly cheese steak and a Caesar salad. They offered a free 40 oz beer for hikers but I asked for orange juice instead!

Leaving the resort, I felt not well. Fatigue and nausea came over me, making the final .4 miles to camp extremely exhausting. I went to bed hoping it’d be gone in the morning.
