Day 31: A month on trail

First thing upon waking was to make coffee. Oh how I love coffee. Cheryl was up shortly after and made a tasty breakfast of French toast, bacon, muffins, and orange juice... wow, Cheryl has my heart.

We hit the trail head around 9:30 and began hiking. Hombre and I linked up with Logan (who’s trail name is now Sandman) and we hiked together for most of the morning. Our goal was to make it to the next water source about 25 miles away to camp. We split up in the afternoon before rejoining at camp.

I stopped about 3 miles away from camp to eat dinner and was happy to see my stove worked. My instant mashed potatoes and bacon was delicious.

I hiked happily the last few miles to water and went to cook my second dinner only to discover my stove stopped working again. Damn it. I’ll need to send my extra stove from home to my next resupply so I have a working stove I trust in the Sierras. Fun stuff.
