Day 25: Hot n Cold
Today was a mix of extremes. The morning was frigid and windy requiring me to wear all of my layers whereas the afternoon was hot with stale windless air. But despite that, I walked fast, which I’ll credit to the comfort of the new shoes.
This morning was back to the basics with a 19 mile road walk giving me flashbacks to parts of the section from the Grand Canyon. The good part of the road walk was the convenience of bathrooms spread along the route.
Once finished with the road walk, I dropped into what felt and looked more like a desert. A sharp contrast to the snow a day before. I ran into Logan, the other GWL hiker, and we sped through the evening miles.
I ended the day with a 800+ foot climb spread over 2 miles to rewarded to the most beautiful sunset.
Miles: 37.8
Total Miles: 650
Ps.. I crossed mile 420 of the PCT today, which is something a hiker memorialized with art.
