YTT Finale

With the weight of our exam and teaching behind us, Thursday night and Friday were carefree and so fun. Our co-teacher, Lea, turned 27 on Thursday so we celebrated her birthday (and successful teaching) at the river front bar. The energy of the group was palpable! We capped off dinner with this delectable cheese cake, and before going to bed, we each submitted songs for the playlist to accompany our final class.

And what a playlist it was. We performed our Surya As to "Circle of Life" from the Lion King and the flows to the likes of Brittney Spears (#FreeBrittney), Spice Girls, and Warren G. It was such a playful class and one I'll remember for a very long time.

Our last lecture focused on the business of yoga, which essentially covered ways to earn money teaching and things we should consider. This is such an important topic because while I don't plan to teach full time and earn a living with yoga, I do plan to teach a few times a week and this is good information to have.

At five in the evening we all met in the same place where we kicked off the yoga training - the wooden meditation deck in the woods - for our graduation ceremony. The teachers prepared thoughtful statements for each of us when presenting our certification of completion of 200 hours of Yoga Teacher Training.

We celebrated our graduation with champagne and a final barbecue. We stayed up late shooting the shit, watching the night sky, and searching for shooting stars.

The morning we all met in the studio for our final sutra circle to share our appreciation for each other and this experience. I might've cried. I'll miss this group. The place was just beginning to feel like home and my fellow teachers close friends. But all is well that ends well, and this certainly did just that.

Now on to the next adventure.
